On the road in Philadelphia, Delaware fell to 2-2 after losing to the La Salle Explorers by a score of 71-61. It was the Blue Hens first matchup in over a week, since beating George Washington last Friday.
In a matchup that was originally scheduled for Dec. 2, a slow start offensively plagued the Blue Hens throughout the evening, with the Hens suffering their first loss of the year against the University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC) 76-61.
In their first road game of an unorthodox season, the women’s basketball team pulled off an impressive win versus Power Five opponent Pittsburgh, by a score of 85-79. The Blue Hens now sit at 2-0 after a blowout win at home against Salem last week.
When the Delaware men’s basketball team’s CAA tournament run came to an end back in March, the Blue Hens looked to have a full, returning starting five to make another run at a conference championship.
